Experience the unique history of the 'Blue Mallee' eucalyptus at our heritage listed site in Inglewood, Victoria. View the museum collection, grab a coffee or browse the store.
The museum houses a unique collection of historic items including old tools, oil bottles, artworks, news cuttings, photographs and other paraphernalia from the local industry dating from the 1800s. The museum collection also includes the heritage listed 'Old Jones' Distillery which dates back to 1890 and is accessible to visitors.
Full guided tours of the museum are available for group bookings, 7 days a week and include a walk around the heritage listed distillery, an informative talk and a demonstration of eucalyptus oil production in our model distillery. Contact us to make a booking, homemade refreshments are available. We have experience hosting large groups and have ample parking for large coaches and caravan or car clubs.
The museum participates in a number of community events such as the 'Loddon Valley Arts Trail', which gives local artists a place to show their work and connect with art lovers. The museum cafe is home to a permanent display of works by local artists which are available to be purchased (a portion of the proceeds is donated to the not-for-profit museum).
The museum hosts popular annual events such as the National Heritage Festival and National Eucalyptus Day. The events are popular with visitors and bring much needed business to the region. The museum is regularly used by community groups and locals as a place to gather.
Visitors can browse the museum's retail store which stocks locally produced 'blue mallee' eucalyptus oil, all natural cleaning and laundry products, room sprays and handmade wares such as soy wax candles, reed diffusers, hand lotion, lip balm, liquid soap, bath salts, herbal teas, eucalyptus lollies and shortbread.
A group of local enthusiasts, "The Inglewood Blue Eucy Miniature Railway Club" have been busy building train tracks on the museum grounds so that little kids (and big kids!) can take a ride on a miniature train! The project is due to be completed late 2024. If you would like to volunteer your time please contact us.
The Cliff and Bunting Steam Traction Engine is believed to be the only surviving model in the Southern Hemisphere. Originally part of the distillery in Inglewood, it is currently undergoing restoration and will be returned to the museum in late 2024. For more information please follow the link below.
To house the steam traction engine, the main building will be extended and a large annex will be added. As a not-for-profit volunteer run organisation, the museum still requires funding to complete the building works, for project updates and to make a tax-deductible donation follow the link below.
